The Blood of Sacrifice
Exodus 30:10 – Jesus’ crucifixion and the sufficiency of His sacrifice and atone for our sins once and for all. When the high priest went into the Holy of Holies, in the Day of Atonement to offer sacrifice for his own sins, and sins of the people, he had to do in the blood and that blood has been given on the altar to make atonement for our sins, our souls.
Leviticus 17:11 – The priest did this year after year and makes the same sacrifices. Priests sins and the sins of the people was not washed away, they were merely covered over.
The blood of animals was placed on their sins to atone for them, but it was not finished work. It was done over and over again.
The action of the High Priest who did this repeatedly offered the blood of animals , which was a type, mere shadow of what was to come. Hebrews tracks that when Jesus finished His work of His sacrifice on the cross, He put and end to central sacrifices. Hebrews 8:1 -10 , 14
Hebrews 9:12 communicates the permanence of Christ’s atonement. Jesus went once for all into the Holy of Holies of heaven, not by virtue of the blood of goats and calves by which to make reconciliation between God and man, but His own blood.
Having found and secured a complete redemption an everlasting release for us. Jesus Himself was once a sacrifice for our sins. He does not have to keep doing it.
If, you do a job right, you won’t have to do it over and over again. That’s what Jesus did for us, once and for all. He did it right the first time around… forever!
We no longer have to make a sacrifice each time we commit a sin. We now live by faith, trusting in God that the sacrifice Jesus made is more than enough to cleanse us and make us whole.
Leviticus 19:28 – You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead nor print or tattoo any marks upon you. I am the Lord.
26. You shall not eat anything with the blood, neither shall you use magic, omens, witchcraft or predict events by horoscopes or signs and lucky days.
Leviticus 31 Turn not to mediums who have familiar spirits or to wizards do not seek them out to be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a male as if he were a woman both men have committed an offense (something perverse, unnatural, abhorrent, and detestable) they shall surely be put to death, their blood shall be upon them.
