There is not one person who is perfect, and anyone who says they are, the Bible says they are a Liar! I’m not perfect at and by no means, and I never claim to be. Only Jesus Christ is the Most Perfect High God!!

But there are ways the Bible clearly shows, “How We can Strive to Be.”

The “Provided Reference Verses” given are NOT in Order, and I am sorry for that. This one I believe was one of the longest ones I’ve done, except for 370 Sins in The Bible, so please bare with me and understand I am trying lol 🙂

How To Act Meaning of Statement Verse’s

Read The Word

IT IS NECESSARY TO READ GOD’S WORD IN ORDER TO OBEY IT

IT IS NECESSARY TO READ GOD’S WORD IN ORDER TO TEACH IT TO OTHERS

IT IS NECESSARY TO READ GOD’S WORD IN ORDER TO KNOW THE LORD

When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy these laws on a scroll for himself in the presence of the Levitical priests. He must always keep this copy of the law with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the LORD his God by obeying all the terms of this law. The king was to be a man of God’s Word. He was to

  • have a copy of the law made for his personal use,
  • keep it with him all the time,
  • read from it every day, and
  • obey it completely.

Through this process he would learn respect for God, keep himself from feeling more important than others, and avoid neglecting God in times of prosperity. We can’t know what God wants except through his Word, and his Word won’t affect our life unless we read and think about it regularly. With the easy availability of the Bible today, it is not difficult to gain access to the source of the king’s wisdom. What is more of a challenge is following its directives.

Call them all together-men, women, children, and the foreigners living in your towns-so they may listen and learn to fear the LORD your God and carefully obey all the terms of this law.

The laws were to be read to the whole assembly so that everyone, including the children, could hear them. Every seven years the entire nation would gather together and listen as a priest read the law to them. There were no books, Bibles, or newsstands to spread God’s Word, so the people had to rely on word of mouth and an accurate memory. Memorization was an important part of worship because if everyone knew the law, ignorance would be no excuse for breaking it.

To fulfill God’s purpose and will in our life, we need the content and substance of his Word in our heart and mind. For the Hebrews, this process began in childhood. Teaching our children and new believers should be one of our top priorities.

Our finest teachers, best resources, and most careful thought should be directed toward showing young believers how to follow God in all life’s situations.  Jesus’ disciples saw him do many other miraculous signs besides the ones recorded in this book. But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life. To understand the life and mission of Jesus more fully, all we need to do is study the Gospels. John tells us that his Gospel records only a few of the many events in Jesus’ life on earth. But it includes everything we need to know to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, through whom we receive eternal life.

Repentance

WHY IS REPENTANCE ESSENTIAL TO A SPIRITUAL LIFE?

REPENTANCE OPENS THE WAY FOR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

REPENTANCE DEMONSTRATES REAL FAITH

REPENTANCE MAKES INWARD CHANGE A VISIBLE REALITY

REPENTANCE BREAKS OUR BONDAGE TO SIN

Here is a sample of John’s preaching to the crowds that came for baptism: “You brood of snakes! Who warned you to flee God’s coming judgment? Prove by the way you live that you have really turned from your sins and turned to God. Don’t just say, ’We’re safe-we’re the descendants of Abraham.’ That proves nothing. God can change these stones here into children of Abraham.”

Repentance has two sides-turning away from sins and turning toward God. To be truly repentant, we must do both. We can’t just say that we believe and then live any way we choose; neither can we simply live a morally correct life without a personal relationship with God, because that cannot bring forgiveness from sin. Determine to rid your life of any sins God points out, and put your trust in him alone to guide you.

Confession of sins and a changed life are inseparable. Faith without deeds is dead. Jesus’ harshest words were to the respectable religious leaders who lacked the desire for real change. They wanted to be known as religious authorities, but they didn’t want to change their hearts and minds. Thus their lives were unproductive. Repentance must be tied to action, or it isn’t real.

Following Jesus means more than saying the right words; it means acting on what he says. In those days John the Baptist began preaching in the Judean wilderness. His message was, “Turn from your sins and turn to God, because the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”When you wash dirty hands, the results are immediately visible. But repentance happens inside with a cleansing that isn’t seen right away. So John used a symbolic action that people could see: baptism. The Jews used baptism to initiate converts, so John’s audience was familiar with the rite.

Here, baptism was used as a sign of repentance and forgiveness. Repent means “to turn,” implying a change in behavior. It is turning from sin toward God. Have you repented of sin in your life? Can others see the difference it makes in you? A changed life with new and different behavior makes your repentance real and visible. The leading priests decided to kill Lazarus, too, for it was because of him that many of the people had deserted them and believed in Jesus. The chief priests’ blindness and hardness of heart caused them to sink ever deeper into sin.

They rejected the Messiah and planned to kill him, and then plotted to murder Lazarus as well. One sin leads to another. From the Jewish leaders’ point of view, they could accuse Jesus of blasphemy because he claimed equality with God. But Lazarus had done nothing of the kind. They wanted Lazarus dead simply because he was a living witness to Jesus’ power. This is a warning to us to avoid sin. Sin leads to more sin, and this downward spiral can be stopped only by repentance and the power of the Holy Spirit to change behavior.

Righteousness

HOW DO WE BECOME RIGHTEOUSNESS?

WE ARE NOT RIGHTEOUS BY NATURE

WE DO NOT BECOME RIGHTEOUS BY BEING GOOD

WE BECOME RIGHTEOUS THROUGH CHRIST

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me.  Because we are born as sinners  our natural inclination is to please ourselves rather than God. David followed that inclination when he took another man’s wife. We also follow it when we sin in any way. Like David, we must ask God to cleanse us from within, making room for clean thoughts and right desires. Right conduct can come only from a clean heart and spirit. Ask God to create a pure heart in you. We are all infected and impure with sin.

When we proudly display our righteous deeds, we find they are but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall. And our sins, like the wind, sweep us away. This passage can easily be misunderstood. It does not mean that God will reject us if we come to him in faith, nor does it mean that he despises our efforts to please him.

It means that if we come to him demanding acceptance on the basis of our “good” conduct, God will point out that our righteousness is nothing compared to his infinite righteousness. Sin makes us unclean so that we cannot approach God any more than a beggar in rotten rags could dine at a king’s table. Our best efforts are still infected with sin. Our only hope, therefore, is faith in Jesus Christ, who can cleanse us and bring us into God’s presence. God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. When we trust in Christ, we make an exchange-our sin for his righteousness. Our sin was poured into Christ at his crucifixion. His righteousness is poured into us at our conversion.

This is what is meant by Christ’s “atonement” for sin. In the world, bartering works only when two people exchange goods of relatively equal value. But God offers to trade his righteousness for our sin-something of immeasurable worth for something completely worthless. How grateful we should be for his kindness to us.

Thankfulness

THERE ARE FOUR SIGNIFICANT ASPECTS OF THANKFULNESS

THANKFULNESS OUGHT TO BE A MAJOR INGREDIENT IN ALL OUR RELATIONSHIPS

ONE OF THE FIRST MARKS OF REJECTING GOD IS FORGETTING TO THANK HIM

THANKFULNESS OUGHT TO BE THE PRIME CHARACTERISTIC IN A CHRISTIAN’S LIFE

THANKFULNESS CAN TAKE ON A VARIETY OF EFFECTIVE EXPRESSIONS

We are grateful to God for his personal concern, help, and mercy. Not only does he protect, guide, and forgive us, but his creation provides everything we need.

Importance: When we realize how we benefit from knowing God, we can fully express our thanks to him. By thanking him often, we develop spontaneity in our prayer life.

Four elements of true thanksgiving are found in this song (psalm):

  • remembering what God has done,
  • telling others about it,
  • showing God’s glory to others, and
  • offering gifts of self, time, and resources.

If you are truly thankful, your life will show it.

It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening, During the Thanksgiving holiday, we focus on our blessings and express our gratitude to God for them. But thanks should be on our lips every day.

We can never say thank you enough to parents, friends, leaders, and especially to God. When thanksgiving becomes an integral part of your life, you will find that your attitude toward life will change.

You will become more positive, gracious, loving, and humble.

Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. The result was that their minds became dark and confused.  How could intelligent people turn to idolatry? Idolatry begins when people reject what they know about God. Instead of looking to him as the Creator and sustainer of life, they see themselves as the center of the universe.

They soon invent “gods” that are convenient projections of their own selfish plans and decrees. These gods may be wooden figures, but they may also be goals or things we pursue such as money, power, or comfort. They may even be misrepresentations of God himself-making God in our image, instead of the reverse. The common denominator is this-idolaters worship the things God or man made, rather than God himself. Isaiah there anything you feel you can’t live without? Isaiah there any priority greater than God?

  • Do you have a dream you would sacrifice everything to realize?
  • Does God take first place?
  • Do you worship God or idols of your own making?

God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. When someone gives you a gift, do you say, “That’s very nice-now how much do I owe you?” No, the appropriate response to a gift is “Thank you.” Yet how often Christians, even after they have been given the gift of salvation, feel obligated to try to work their way to God.

Because our salvation and even our faith are gifts, we should respond with gratitude, praise, and joy. We become Christians through God’s unmerited grace, not as the result of any effort, ability, intelligent choice, or act of service on our part. However, out of gratitude for this free gift, we will seek to help and serve others with kindness, love, and gentleness.

While no action or work we do can help us obtain salvation, God’s intention is that our salvation will result in acts of service. We are not saved merely for our own benefit, but to serve Christ and build up the church .

Truthfulness

Teaching that the physical body does not matter, false teachers encouraged believers to throw off moral restraints. They also taught that Christ wasn’t really a man and that we must be saved by having some special mystical knowledge. The result was that people became indifferent to sin.

Importance: God is truth and light, so the more we get to know him, the better we can keep focused on the truth. Don’t be led astray by any teaching that denies Christ’s deity or humanity. Check the message; test the claims.

TRUTH Following God’s Word, the Bible, is essential to Christian living because God is truth. Christ’s true followers consistently obey his truth.

Importance: To be loyal to Christ’s teaching, we must seek to know the Bible, but we may never twist its message to our own needs or purposes or encourage others who misuse it.

 Trusting God

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF TRUST?

TRUST ALMOST ALWAYS INVOLVES PATIENCE

TRUST OFTEN REQUIRES COURAGE

TRUST INVOLVES HEARTFELT CONFIDENCE IN GOD

TRUST INCLUDES GIVING GOD OUR FUTURE PLANS

Then God remembered Rachel’s plight and answered her prayers by giving her a child. She became pregnant and gave birth to a son. “God has removed my shame,” she said. Eventually God answered Rachel’s prayers and gave her a child of her own.

In the meantime, however, she had given her maidservant to Jacob. Trusting God is difficult when nothing seems to happen. But it is harder still to live with the consequences of taking matters into our own hands. Resist the temptation to think God has forgotten you. Have patience and courage to wait for God to act.

As Pharaoh and his army approached, the people of Israel could see them in the distance, marching toward them. The people began to panic, and they cried out to the LORD for help. Then they turned against Moses and complained,

“Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt?

Why did you make us leave?” Trapped against the sea, the Israelites faced the Egyptian army sweeping in for the kill. The Israelites thought they were doomed. After watching God’s powerful hand deliver them from Egypt, their only response was fear, whining, and despair.

Where was their trust in God? Israel had to learn from repeated experience that God was able to provide for them. God has preserved these examples in the Bible so that we can learn to trust him the first time.

By focusing on God’s faithfulness in the past, we can face crises with confidence rather than with fear and complaining. Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths. Leaning has the sense of putting your whole weight on something, resting on and trusting in that person or thing. When we have an important decision to make, we sometimes feel that we can’t trust anyone-not even God. But God knows what is best for us. And he knows even better than we do what we really want.

We must trust him completely in every choice we make.

We should not omit careful thinking or belittle our God-given ability to reason; but we should not trust our own ideas to the exclusion of all others. We must not be wise in our own eyes. We should always be willing to listen to and be corrected by God’s Word and wise counselors. Bring your decisions to God in prayer, use the Bible as your guide, and follow God’s leading. He will make your paths straight by both guiding and protecting you.

To receive God’s guidance, said Solomon, we must acknowledge God in all our ways. This means turning every area of life over to him.

About a thousand years later, Jesus emphasized this same truth. Look at your values and priorities. What is important to you? In what areas have you not acknowledged him? What is his advice? In many areas of your life you may already acknowledge God, but it is the areas where you attempt to restrict or ignore his influence that will cause you grief.

Make him a vital part of everything you do; then he will guide you because you will be working to accomplish his purposes.

Now God has shown us a different way of being right in his sight-not by obeying the law but by the way promised in the Scriptures long ago.

We are made right in God’s sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins.

And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done. After all this bad news about our sinfulness and God’s condemnation, Paul gives the wonderful news.

There is a way to be declared not guilty-by trusting Jesus Christ to take away our sins. Trusting means putting our confidence in Christ to forgive our sins, to make us right with God, and to empower us to live the way he taught us. God’s solution is available to all of us regardless of our background or past behavior.
