And who could ever give him so much that he would have to pay it back? For everything comes from him; everything exists by his power and is intended for his glory. To him be glory evermore. Amen.

GOD IS PERFECT IN HIS WAY AND HIS PROVIDENCE

GOD IS PERFECT IN HIS KNOWLEDGE

2 Timothy 3:16-17 . . . All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God’s way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do.

James 1:25 . . . If you keep looking steadily into God’s perfect law-the law that sets you free-and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

Proverbs 30:5 . . . Every word of God proves true. He defends all who come to him for protection.

GOD IS PERFECT IN HIS WORD

Hebrews 4:15 . . . This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same temptations we do, yet he did not sin.

Hebrews 7:26 . . . He is the kind of high priest we need because he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has now been set apart from sinners, and he has been given the highest place of honor in heaven.

1 Peter 1:18-19 . . . You know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

1 Peter 2:22 . . . He never sinned, and he never deceived anyone.

Hebrews 2:10 . . . It was only right that God-who made everything and for whom everything was made-should bring his many children into glory. Through the suffering of Jesus, God made him a perfect leader, one fit to bring them into their salvation.

Hebrews 5:9 . . . In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him. God’s complete excellence is revealed in human form in his son, Jesus, who is perfect and sinless.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE AREAS IN WHICH WE ARE TO STRIVE TO BE PERFECT?

James 1:27 . . . Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God our Father means that we must care for orphans and widows in their troubles, and refuse to let the world corrupt us.

2 Peter 3:14 . . . While you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to live a pure and blameless life. And be at peace with God.

2 Corinthians 7:1 . . . Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete purity because we fear God.

2 Corinthians 2:15 . . . Our lives are a fragrance presented by Christ to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those being saved and by those perishing. We should strive to be perfect in our holiness.

Genesis 6:9 . . . This is the history of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless man living on earth at the time. He consistently followed God’s will and enjoyed a close relationship with him.

1 John 2:5 . . . Those who obey God’s word really do love him. That is the way to know whether or not we live in him.

1 Timothy 6:13-14 . . . I command . . . that you obey his commands with all purity. Then no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord Jesus Christ returns.

Genesis 17:1 . . . When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; serve me faithfully and live a blameless life.” We should strive to be perfect in our obedience.

Matthew 5:48 . . . You are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Colossians 3:14 . . . The most important piece of clothing you must wear is love. Love is what binds us all together in perfect harmony.

1 John 4:12, 18 . . . No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us . . . Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of judgment, and this shows that his love has not been perfected in us. We should strive to be perfect in our love.

Isaiah 26:3 . . . You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Psalm 119:165 . . . Those who love your law have great peace and do not stumble.

Philippians 4:4-7 . . . Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again-rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.

Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.

His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. We should strive to be perfect in the way we pursue peace.

HOW DO WE MEET GOD’S EXPECTATIONS FOR US?

Colossians 1:22 . . . Now he has brought you back as his friends. He has done this through his death on the cross in his own human body. As a result, he has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

Hebrews 10:14 . . . By that one offering he perfected forever all those whom he is making holy. We meet God’s expectations by accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Galatians 3:3 . . . Have you lost your senses? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort? We meet God’s expectations by daily living in the Spirit.

2 Timothy 3:16, 17 . . . All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God’s way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do. We meet God’s expectations by knowing him and his ways through his Word.

Hebrews 6:1 . . . Let us stop going over the basics of Christianity again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start all over again with the importance of turning away from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.

Ephesians 4:11-12 . . . He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. We meet God’s expectations by growing and ministering to others.

PROMISE FROM GOD: James 1:17 . . . Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heaven’s lights. Unlike them, he never changes or casts shifting shadows. Coming into Christ’s presence will be more wonderful than we could ever imagine!

We are to “STRIVE” to be “PERFECT” work hard to not to conform to the things of this world and the sin in it.
