Perfection In Christ What is Perfection? How, is Perfection described?

Perfection: Having no defect or fault; flawless ;accurate ;absolute. To make perfect.

What is God’s glory? It is the manifestation of God’s character—his ultimate power, transcendence, and moral perfection. God is completely above humans and their limitations. Yet God reveals himself to us so that we can worship and follow him.

The seven pillars are figurative; they do not represent seven principles of wisdom. In the Bible, the number seven represents completeness and perfection. This verse poetically states that wisdom lacks nothing—it is complete and perfect.

I have often wondered since I heard that in order to get to Heaven, one has to be perfect, and boy did that bother me. Because that would mean that noone would be able to go to Heaven.

So, I was talking to my mother, about it one night, and she cleared it up, for me.

She said this: We are to strive to be Perfect, but we cannot be perfect. Which means, that we do everything we can to strive to perfect as “Jesus Christ.” Noone, can be perfect except one, and that is “Our Lord Jesus Christ.”

So, I started looking up “Scriptures on Perfection” and this what all I found. I have included, the meanings from The International Version and the Warren W. Weirsbe’s Bible Commentary, and “The Naves Bible” so we can better understand, just what the “Bible” says, on Perfection.

We are to STRIVE to be perfect, be in perfection, this means :

• Watch Our Tempers
• Watch Our Language and Our Words (as bible says words can kill)
• Watch Our Attitudes
• Watch Our Actions in all we do
• Watch who we are around
• WE are to HATE SIN
• Watch Our Habits, and if we have some which we are having a hard time with we continue to pray and believe that God will help us with them.
• Watch what we watch on TV, watch good programs nothing with filth.
• Watch our time with God, make sure you spend time with Him through out the day always pray and never let anyone tell you different.
• Never Lie, or tell false truths, always think Good of other’s never look bad about them.
• DO NOT Curse and think “Oh God will forgive me” if you curse and you know it is wrong then you knew it was wrong, so you need to ask God to help you in how you talk and speak.
• DO NOT BOAST of things you think you are better at or good at, Boasting is a SIN and one sin is as good as the other.

There are many things we can do which I have not listed here, but there are many things I am sure you can even think of, that we can do to STRIVE to be perfect.

Our daily frustrations, society’s pressures, the shortcomings narrows our view of God. We need the Bible’s view of God as high and lifted up to empower us to deal with our problems and concerns. God’s moral perfection, properly seen, will purify us from sin, cleanse our mind of our problems, and enable us to worship and to serve.

The more you understand, the greater your pain and difficulty. For example, the more you know, the more imperfection you see around you; and the more you observe, the more evil becomes evident.

As you set out with Solomon to find the meaning of life, you must be ready to feel more, think more, question more, hurt more, and do more. Are you ready to pay the price for wisdom?

Acts: 24:16 Commentary: This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.

(Paul’s defense was threefold; his life, his faith and his service to his nation. Although his enemies could not prove their accusations, Paul did not go free. The safest place for Paul was in that prison for God had work for him to do in Rome. You may not understand why God permits lies to triumph, but leave it all in His hands. He is in control, and the final judgment rests with Him.)

Psalms 27:4 The one thing I ask of the Lord—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.

Philippians 3:12 – 16

12 I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be.

13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,

14 I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.

15 I hope all of you who are mature Christians will agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you.

16 But we must be sure to obey the truth we have learned already.

Romans 3:27 – 28

27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Most religions require specific duties that must be performed to make a person acceptable to a god. Christianity is unique in that no good deed that we do will make us right with God. No amount of human achievement or personal goodness will close the gap between God’s moral perfection and our imperfect daily performance. Good deeds are important, but they will not earn us eternal life. We are saved only by trusting in what God has done for us Ephesians 2:8-10

Isaiah 1–34, Isaiah has delivered a message of judgment on all nations, including Israel and Judah, for rejecting God. Although there have been glimpses of relief and restoration for the remnant of faithful believers, the climate of wrath, fury, judgment, and destruction has prevailed.

Now Isaiah breaks through with a vision of beauty and encouragement. God is just as thorough in his mercy as he is severe in his judgment. God’s complete moral perfection is revealed by his hatred of all sin, and this leads to judgment. This same moral perfection is revealed in his love for all he has created. This leads to mercy for those who have sinned but who have sincerely loved Jesus and put their trust in him.
