Powering Up Your Own Focus
1 Chronicles 12:33
So many, people who are living double – minded, they live in a past that they themselves only choose to live in. Living in the past is dangerous, and dangerous medicine for your health, your soul and your very future. If, I wanted to let my past conquer my future, I’d be in really bad trouble, I wouldn’t be where I am today If I held on to all the things which I endured in my past.
Some, were horrific but I learned – if I am to be all I need to be then no matter what I’ve been through I have to let my own past be left behind and live in the future.
I know it’s not easy – I know I’ve been there, but it can be done. I am not saying you will forget it, but because you won’t but what I am saying is this!
You have to STOP living’ in the past, you have to get the past behind you, because you can’t live in both worlds and you sure can’t serve two masters. The Bible says in Matthew 6:24 “Jesus said, no one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by one and de devoted to the one and despise and be against the other….”
I have been through allot in my past, and present, everyone has, but there is a way out and it begins with you!
Yep You! You can’t say, you live for God and when you are being double minded and serving your past and serving what you think is your future.
God, taught many in the BIBLE to be “Single-Minded” for a purpose. Just like He called Abraham, he told him to leave his past behind and to focus in the place that God would show him. That’s in Genesis 12:1
In 1 Chronicles 12:3, it shows us about the brave men who helped David wage war. They wasn’t double – hearted they focused and were stable and trustworthy. They were stuck on their purpose in their lives.
And, Paul spoke of being single – hearted when he said to let go of what lies behind and press on to what lies ahead. In Philippians 3:13-14. What the Lord is encouraging Israel to do through the prophet Isaiah being single in purpose. Watch : (Do Not earnestly) remember the former things; neither consider the things of old, Behold I am doing a new thing! Isaiah 43:18,19
In James 1:8, it says a person who is of two minds is hesitating, dubious, irresolute, unstable, and uncertain about everything he thinks, feels or decides.
The problems is this, so many people all over the world, all they want to do in their lives is hold on to their pasts and are actually still trying to get into their future.
God, wants us to move on and up, not continue to be cooped and sloped down I our past, because when we are still living in our pasts, they control our future, our hearts and souls become bitter and stay tied up in the pasts of our lives which need to be left behind and alone.
All this causes to live and have a double – minded mind, and a double – hearted, double – life, never will you have the peace of mind which God wants you to have.
We have to get rid of our past, and stop having a double – mind, heart and living in two lives and worlds. We need to Power Up Our Focus in our life and be steadfast in our future, and what God wants us to be and live in our future.
We have to make the decision to stop letting the past stop us from living in the future.
So many, say they want to live in the future, but they refuse to let go if their past.
