Hindrances Can Get In The Way

Hindrances Can Get In The WayHindrances Can Get In The Way

Hebrews 12:1

We all have “Hindrances” in our lives, which cause us to not do something. We all procrastinate at some point in our lives. None are exempt from “hindrances” from getting in their way and poof everything tries to go hay wire, and well it did for me.

What I have done here was to just give samples of what things can happen and with other’s, I am NOT COMPLAINING……I wrote this back in 2000 I think it was or 2003. See I knew we was to show love to other’s and do for them and be there for them, but what I didn’t know at the time was “We ARE TO BE GOD PLEASERS not People Pleasers” but, there’s a reason also, my parents hardly could get any help doing anything unless you flashed money at the, then they would be glad to. I was different, I never charged my parents to help do anything it was my pleasure to help them in anyway I could.

I tell you this, when I was on my own, and doing what I wanted to do, I let everything get in the way, and stop me from doing what God wanted me to do.

I was always, coming up with an excuse, or I wanted to do, it but I got scared or frightened, for some reason.

Which, I was not married to great men, neither; but they did believe. I was married to one, which boy, was he something, you know that “Love” word, and boy I was wrong.
I let him and everything else get in my way.

Just some Hindrances:

  • Our Friends
  • Family that make trouble
  • Television Thinking you just can’t miss that show
  • Our Everyday Tasks
  • Our Own Businesses
  • Our Sleeping Habits
  • Our Yard Work
  • Our Per Tee Stubbornness
  • Our Worries, bills, etc.
  • Our Jobs

There are so many things that can stop us from doing the Will of God.

My problem, I will admit and I am ashamed, and have asked for forgiveness, for.

I myself would always either put everyone first, like my family, I would help them do things get things done, I would be trying to get my “home based Business” back on the ground. I would, just want to do what I wanted to do.

But, when I lived in Mendenhall, Ms, I was getting so close to the Father. But, husband’s job was fading out in pay, so he wanted to move back to Montgomery, Al which I didn’t want to return.

Why? Because I had so much peace with the Lord there, I felt His Love and His grace. I felt the Spirit, I was reading my Bible, Every morning, every night, I prayed and I was listening to TBN, I would sit and write down important information, about subjects which meant something to me. I would turn on my stereo, and jam as some call it, and sing up a storm.

My Business was succeeding…. but…

When we moved back down here, everything went to pot as some would say; I lost my closeness to the Father. I immediately when we found us a house, I immediately went over to my mother’s house to help her get ready for her friend, which her name is: Judy Sherrod (I didn’t mind Momma) My mother needed things done, and I went over there every morning early to help in the house and the yard, etc.

My mother is a very special lady! But, when I started doing all that and not even unpacked yet, it seems like I lost touch with the Father.

I was putting everyone, first and was so busy trying to please everyone and helping sister’s with computers, and their problems, and other family member’s, I actually left God out.

My heart was into helping others, but what had happened was, I left the most “Important Person Out” The Father.

I got sick, with a urinary tract infection, so that didn’t help. But, I was placing everything before what I was to be doing.

This is just an example, of how hindrances, can really get in the way sometimes.

We have been back down here for about 4 years now, and I have been having a serious problem, trying to get back where I was before when we was living in Ms.

I have become very tired all the time, and wore out, I would find myself working way over time, trying to get my business web pages completed and trying to get Adsheets out to customer’s, etc.

And, soon it failed, because I never had time to do anything with it. The other parts of my family, hardly ever lifts a hand to help anyone, unless there is money involved, so I am one of the ones, whom is not to help other’s for money.

My parents are in bad health, so I help them whenever they need help.

Hindrances can really get in the way, sometimes; but helping others is important part of showing Jesus we do love others and care about them.

Here is some information on Hindrances:

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with “perseverance” the race marked out for us.

Translation: This race is the lifelong test of faith in this world.

The race must be run with “perseverance”, with patience and endurance. The way of victory is the same as that of the saints in Hebrews 12:11 pressing on to the finish.

The race must be run by throwing off sins that impede or slow us down and by fixing our eyes, lives and hearts on Jesus and the example of preserving obedience he set on earth.

The race must be run with an awareness that the greatest danger confronting us is the temptation to yield to sin to return to the country (we) had left” and to once again become citizens of the world.

Ref. Verses: Hebrews 10:23,38; 11; 12:25; 13:13; 10:36, Php 3:12-14. 6:11-12; 12:1-4 Luke 21:19; 1 Co 9:24-25

Heb 12 : 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Translation: In our race of faith we look to Jesus as

(1) our example of trust in God of commitment to his will, of prayer, of over coming temptation and suffering of endurance in loyalty to the Father and of seeking the joy of completing the work to which God has called us.
(2) Our source of strength, love , grace, mercy and help.

New Century Version

We have all around us many people whose lives tell us what faith really means. So let us run the race that is before us and never give up. We should remove from our lives anything that would get in the way and the sin that so easily holds us back. Hebrews 12:1

Let us look only to Jesus the one who began our faith and who makes it perfect. He suffered on the cross. But he accepted the shame as if it were nothing because of the joy that God puts before him. And, now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne. Heb 12:2 V. 3 partial: So don’t get tired of trying.
Col 3:8,9,10-12

But now also put these things out of your life:

  • Anger
  • Bad Temper
  • Doing or saying Things to hurt other’s
  • Using Evil words when you talk
  • Do not lie to each other

V-9 Do not lie to each other. You have left your old sinful life and the things you did before.

V-10 You have begun to live the new life in which you are being made new and are becoming like the One who made you. This new life brings you true knowledge of God.

V-12 God has chosen you and made you his holy people. He loves you. So, always do these things:

Show Mercy to others

  • Be Kind
  • Be Humble
  • Be Gentle
  • Be Patient

V-13 Get along with each other, and forgive each other. If someone does wrong to you, forgive that person because the Lord forgives you.

V –14 Do all these things; but most important, Love each other. Love is what holds you all together, in perfect unity.

V –15 Let the peace that Christ gives control your thinking because you were all called together in one body, to have peace. Always, be Thankful.

V-16 Let the teachings of Christ live in you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and instruct each other by singing Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

V-17 Everything you do or say should be done, to obey Jesus your Lord. And, in all you do, give thanks to God the Faith through Jesus.

Matt 4:8-10 V-8 Then the devil led Jesus to the top of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and all their splendor.

V-9 The devil said, “If you bow down and worship me, I will give you all these things:

V-10 Jesus said, to the devil, “Go away from me, Satan! It is written in the scriptures, “You must worship the Lord your God and only him.

V-11 So the devil left and angels came and took care of Him.

V-8 Satan: Satan or “adversary” was a great angel created perfect and good. He was appointed to be a minister at the throne of God; yet before the world began, he rebelled and became the chief antagonist of God and humanity. Eze 28:12-15

In his rebelling against God, Satan drew with him a multitude of lessor angels who are probably to be identified, after fall, with demons or evil spirits.
