Who’s Voice Is It I Hear
Who’s Voice Is It I Hear?
1 Kings 19:12
Anyone who actually wants to hear God’s voice can sometimes misinterpret the Voice of God! We all can say we hear His Voice but do we?
Did you know that a horse is very attentive to it’s master’s voice, a horse has one ear to listen and watch for warnings, however, the other ear the horse listens to it’s master’s voice. The way we hear God’s voice is similar.
Instead of hearing and looking in the air, the winds, earthquakes, fire Elijah was scared, because of his circumstances had scared him he needed to hear from God, and he had a ringing ear toward God’s voice, even though his circumstances could’ve caused him not to, but he did.
Elijah went and hid in a cave and prayed for God to let him die.
Even though Elijah was praying for God to let him die, God taught him a wonderful lesson about how to know His Voice. Elijah waited on God, He demonstrated His power through the winds, earthquakes and fire. But, God was not in those things, but instead He Spoke to him in a “STILL SMALL VOICE” ! 1 Kings 19:12, gave instructions for Elijah’s next mission. Elijah obeyed, God’s voice.
This story of Elijah shows us how to hear God’s Voice and when we need direction. God, didn’t show him flashy examples of power –– even though God already showed him His power. God spoke to His prophet in a “STILL SMALL VOICE” ––– and God still wishes to communicate to His children the same way as back then.
His Voice is a still small whisper, deep within our spirits, Jesus explained that some people do not hear the voice of God because they don’t believe in Him, they do not Have His Word in their hearts –– John 5:37.
He taught us, that we must be BORN again in Order to hear His Voice, you must be born anew!
The winds blows (breathes) where it wills, and though you hear it’s sound, yet you neither know where it comes from, nor where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. John 3:7-8
When we become born again, we are made alive in our spirits to be sensitive to the voice of God. We can hear His Whisper even though we cannot tell where it is coming from.
Our ears become “spiritually tuned in” to hear His Voice of God Our Father Who Art In Heaven, our Master’s Voice.
He whispers to convict and correct and direct us by a still small voice that is deep within our hearts.
Ways of His Voice, His Holy Spirit are gentle, loving and kind, most of the time He speaks to us as He did Elijah, a “Still SMALL VOICE.” 1 Kings 19:12
Having A Spiritual Gift in 1 Kings , there are times I wonder when God will give me my spiritual gift. But, I know it is more to it and of being a Christian than just having a spiritual gift. The Holy Spirit helps us grow and mature in Christ. Hearing God’s Voice is one of the one’s I want so much to understand and hear. God helps our lives grow, He helps out relationships, with Him.
Ask God to give you someone who can mentor you like Elijah and allow you to hear His Voice. Show your faithful support and loyalty to them. Is, God calling you, is He calling you by name, are you Listening?
