Are You Being A Blessing

1 Samuel 18:3, 20:14-16

We can learn so much from David, and Mephilbosheth, David was looking for someone to bless. He was wanting to bless someone from Saul’s Family, because of the covenant he had made with his friend Jonathan. 1 Samuel 9:3-4

Davids covenant relationship with Jonathan, included everyone and all the children. David, searched for someone he could bless, for Jonathan’s sake.  

God, is always looking for people, that He can be kind to for Jesus’ sake. One thing so many people forgot (seems) to is that God is Merciful, He us Kind, He is always wanting to extend His love and grace and His kindness to us, only thing is we have to accept it, what He is wanting to give to us.

As, with David’s covenant with Jonathan which did include all the children, and it may be that if we read, Mephilbosheth never exercised his covenant rights because of his negative attitude about himself.

There are so many people who are doing the very same thing, right here today. They want God to help them, but they want to either put their pride in the way, or they are just scared to ask, because they feel unworthy.

Their self esteem is weak, they think bad about themselves and they don’t want to exercise the promises which stand before them.

I hear so many times, “I don’t need anyone, or I don’t need no one to help me, I can do it on my own.” But, they can’t, they need God’s help, the ones who say this , are lying to themselves, plus they are not allowing God to bless them.

They look at everything from the wrong perspective because they are afraid, and they feel bad about themselves, and they shouldn’t.

We have to get out of the ruts, and go to God Boldly and make our needs known, they need to focus on God and what He wants, so much to give them, yes through those God places in our path. Through Our Jesus Lord and & Savior and His Righteousness which He offers through Faith of our’s in Him!

Mephilbosheth, actually referred himself as a “dead dog” 1 Samuel 9:8. He had such a poor outlook on himself but, although David would have helped him, if he would’ve asked, he never did go and ask David.

Many of us need to learn from this , Mephilbosheth . God is so full of mercy and goodness, which He wants to give us, and His willingness to help us, in all we need. God, does not base us on our perfection, only in our covenant with His Son, Jesus.

When we are in Christ we are always included in that covenant which He made, and we can always go boldly to the Throne of God, and receive God’s Mercy and plenty of help and time to meet our needs.

There is always, someone to bless and always there is someone who needs the blessing. We ever have to talk to God into being good to us, because He is Good, and He is Merciful and Graceful, His willingness has always need there and always will be, we just have to say “YES I ACCEPT IT.”

He is always looking for someone to give a blessing to, for Jesus’ sake. We just have to make the decision to start receiving what we do not deserve, and not what we think we’ve earned.

Once, we do this we will be living in God’s Powerful and His Awesome Grace, and it’s freely given to all of us who want to receive Him and His Promises and His Covenants!
