“Taking One Step at a Time”
Genesis 12
Abraham learned to trust God to lead him one step at a time. God, told him clearly, “Trust me with this first step, because it is best for you to go where I lead you”
Abraham may have wondered whether or not to not pack up his tent leaving his family and his country would be in his interest and advantage, but God told him to go to the place that He was going to show him, and Abraham simply obeyed God.
He gave Abraham but only step once not step two, three, four. Abraham would not get to step two until he finished step one.
It was so simple. God gives us direction one step at a time.
There are many people who want to just jump right in and refuse to take step one until they know and understand step two, three, four, five. If you are like that I hope you will be going forward in the plan God has for you and your life by trusting in Him fully with the first step.
Understanding His will for you is revealed a step at a time which will build your confidence in Him to do what you already know to do how to do it. We all can make mistakes in thinking God wants us to do something – when it really isn’t.
God gives us talents before we come out of our mothers womb, God given talents, he gives us the knowledge to do the things he has already embedded into our hearts.
Go do his will.
Some maybe able to see that they can draw, paint, crafts, build, graphics, web design, preach etc. God always lets us know what He wants us to do for him and his glory by going step by step.
Once we know what it is He wants us to do, we have to take step one He gives us to get to step two, etc for his will in our life. Once we can understand his will for you is revealed a step at a time should build you faith, after the first two steps your faith will grow because you are seeing there is always for sure footing under each step which God gives you.
God has a plan for your life and you will get the blessing when you okay him. Which many can miss out by not obeying what God Clearly tells us to do.
He shows you what to do, he never said it will be a bowl of cherries but he will show you the direction to go.
There are times bad may be gracious enough to carry you part of the way, but will come a times when the carrying is over, and says “Now Walk”
God wants us to obey Him quickly, not week or two or month or there down the road – He wants you to obey him now, then take the first step with God today in faith.
(Genesis 12:2) Is God’s promise to Abraham. This also applies to us today. He was willing to do as God wanted him to.
Abraham moved from where he was most comfortable – he left his family – friends and his father. He showed his faith in God and he moved him, he went where God showed him. We all need to have Abrahams type obedience’s and have the kind of great blessings like Abraham.
