John 3:16 For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Act While You Wait

When faith, patience, and works cooperate together, faith reaches its supreme expressionAct While You Wait

James 2:26

When faith, patience, and works cooperate together, faith reaches its supreme expression.

Abraham is our great Old Testament example of patient faith. His faith enabled him to be patient and wait on God even through his trials, delays, and disappointments. You see that faith was cooperating with His works.

The word cooperating breaks down to mean two working together. His patience and his words were cooperating with his faith, through His works his faith was completed. In other words, faith, patience and works cooperating together are faith reaching its supreme expression.

Bringing it down to our level and to where we live, we know that God gave us a promise that He would supply all our needs:

“My God shall supply all your needs according to Hid riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

We know that Jesus Christ became poor sp that we could become rich. We know the Heaven is loaded down with His riches in glory healing baptism, salvation, and prosperity. And all of these riches are available to us, according to the Bible. But if we don’t add action to our faith and patience, all these promises will remain in God’s warehouse of blessings, waiting for us to reach out for them, because there’s one more step needed in this process. Besides believing and waiting we need to express our faith and trust through our actions. No idle inactive faith will do it.

Faith without works (faith that doesn’t work) is dead.
On the other hand, operative faith, faith with corresponding actions, is faith that has power to bring God’s promises to pass.

Now, let me share one more thing with you; you can do a sure way to show God you are serious about your faith and trust Him.

James 2:26 ESV For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

James 2:14-26 ESV What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works

The Bible says:

Malachi, bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes…and all nations shall call you blessed…saith the Lord.”

Giving to God out of your substance or out of your need will help you focus your eyes on Him and remain steadfastly waiting on Him while you run the race with patience. It’s a very effective way to put action to your faith, a tangible expression of your total reliance on Him to supply your needs and fulfill your dreams and aspirations.

So give your best gift to work of the Lord today, and then wait to see His mighty work on your behalf. He will as Malachi said, “open the windows of heaven” over your life, and rebuke the devourer – the enemy who steals, kills, and destroys, and wants to keep you from inheriting God’s promises.

I am believing God for you, that you will grow strong in Him, and that you will be thoroughly equipped unto every good work, and I pray that as you exercise faith and patience and be a doer of the word in every area of your life, you will experience the fulfillment of the highest reward of exercising patience.

That should be the ultimate goal of every Christian. But there is only one way to enter into this exciting phase of Christian experience; that is through faith and patience. Decide today, right now, to live in obedience to the Lord, trusting in Him and waiting on him, so that you can partake of His nature and claim His promises. Then when the trials and tests come, persevere in your decision.

“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” Hebrews 10:35-37
