Endtimes Definitions
Before you read these “Definitions” I want to let you know I DID NOT compile this. I had this on my computer’s extra hard drive where all my backups are stored and while going through some older files I seen this.
I tried to go to the website which had links to other’s articles of information, but sadly the website isn’t no longer there. I really thought this would be of interest to many, to know and understand the “Endtimes” and how the events are unfolding.
Abomination of Desolation– the time at which the forces of Antichrist enter the third temple on Mount Moriah to set up a desecration on the altar. This denotes that the second half of Daniel’s 70th week has begun, which is also known as the Great Tribulation. Key passages- Dan 8:11-13; Dan 9:27; Dan 11:31; Dan 12:11; Matt 24:15-21
Aliens– supposed extra terrestrial beings that have been visiting our planet frequently of late; apparently they’ve traveled millions of light years to promote New Age religion and undermine faith in the Bible and in God. I believe a more probable explanation is that these “aliens” are actually demons; and that they are not from another planet, but have come from another dimension, which God has fixed between them and us. These demonic beings are synonymous with the fallen angels, also known in some places as the sons of God (Gen 6:2, 4; Job 1:6, 38:7; Psalm 89:6).
I suggest that the depiction of Satan and his fallen angels being thrown down to earth (Rev 12:9) is actually the arrival of the fallen angels pretending to be aliens. They will come, possibly with the Antichrist, and claim that they are from another more advanced world; when they tell us their religion, we will naturally accept it in place of our ancient obsolete religions. This will play a big part in the “powerful delusion” (2 Thess 2:11) of the endtimes. Additional potential evidence of the alien/demon presence on earth can be found in Rev 16:13-16, where it says that demons will come “out of the mouth of the dragon” and deceive the rulers of the world into assembling at Armageddon for battle against Jesus Christ. I believe that these demons will turn out to be aliens, which will deceive the nations into following the Antichrist and joining the New World Order.
Antichrist– the term originated in 1 John 2:18, 4:3 and 2 John 7. It has come to stand for the man who at the “end of the age” will rule the world under a united government and kill whoever does not take his mark. He is also known as the “beast of the sea” (Rev 13:1). He is conquered by Christ at his Second Coming and thrown in the lake of fire (Rev 19:20).
Note: I believe it is very possible that the New Age “Master of Wisdom”, known as Maitreya the Christ, may turn out to be the Anti-Christ. This man was said to be the most likely candidate for leader of the New World Order by the author Milton William Cooper, in his book “Behold a Pale Horse” (p 80). The first article I have written on him is ‘Maitreya, the Anti-Christ’. Key passages- Dan 7:8, 11, 20-25; Dan 8:23-24; Dan 9:27; Dan 11:36-39; Matt 24:5, 24; 2 Thess 2:3-4, 6-10; Rev 13:1-8; Rev 19:19-20
Armageddon– another name for the Mount of Meggido, a small mountain in northern Palestine. It is said to be the site at which the Antichrist will gather all the armies of the world (Rev 16:14, 16)
The final battle of the Great Tribulation does not actually take place here, as it is thought, but it occurs in Jerusalem at the Mount of Olives (Zech 14:3-4). In this battle, Jesus Christ will defeat the Antichrist and all his armies simply by the words he speaks (Rev 19:5).
Babylon– this title is given to a specific city in many places in Revelation chapters 17 + 18, but it also stands for the Babylonian system itself, which has always been with us, and has Satan as its king (Isa 14). In Revelation 17 and 18 the title “Babylon” alternates between describing the city that rules over the earth (Rome), and the Babylonian system, which is the sum total of all that is evil and all that is in conflict with God’s Divine system.
The words in these chapters are not meant to make the reader think only of Rome and its system of apostate Christianity, but also of the broader, Satanic Babylonian system, which infiltrated the Jewish peoples throughout their history, and caused them to worship idols, kill God’s prophets, and ultimately, His Son.
“Babylon the Great Whore” is most likely a symbol of the apostate church (or religious system) of endtimes, which I predict will turn out to be Roman Catholicism, the apostate Christianity. Its power is taken away shortly after the abomination of desolation, because it is hated by the united world power of the New World Order (Rev 17:16). At this point, Christianity will be completely wiped off the planet, as the world turns to worship of Antichrist.
Bottomless pit– one of the compartments of hell. It is the dwelling place of demons and certain angels that fell before Adam. Called “the abyss”, in Luke 8:31 and Rom 10:7. The beast (known as “Abaddon“) that kills the two prophets in Jerusalem is let out of the bottomless pit by Satan. Demons are released at this time, which occurs at the fifth trumpet (Rev 9:1-3). It’s also where Satan is bound for a thousand years. Key passages- Job 26:6; Job 28:22; Job 31:12; Rev 9:11; Rev 11:7; Rev 17:8; Rev 20:1-3
Days of Noah– this is what Jesus said that the end of the age would be like. Some things that were going on in those days and today include wickedness (Gen 6:5), violence (Gen 6:11, 13), and fallen angel activity on earth (Gen 6:1-2, 4). He compared the generation of the endtimes to the people of Noah’s day, in that they knew nothing until God’s judgment was already upon them; it will be the same for most of us, with the exception of those who are like Noah and escape. Key passages- Gen 6:1-12; Matt 24:36-39
Dead in Christ– those who have died as believers in Christ. They will be resurrected at the Second Coming and will be translated into their heavenly bodies immediately preceding the rapture of those who are left. Key passages- Isa 26:19; Dan 12:2; 1 Cor 15:40-44, 52-53; 1 Thess 4:14-16
Dragon– another name for Satan, found mostly in the Book of Revelation. He gives power to the Antichrist to persecute and kill the followers of Jesus; he is most likely the “foreign God” spoken of in Dan 11:39. The dragon is locked in the bottomless pit for the millennial reign of Christ, and is then released. He is thrown into the lake of fire, to stay there forever. Key passages- Job 41; Isa 27:1; Rev 12:3-4, 7-9, 12-13, 17; Rev 13:2, 4; Rev 20:2-3, 7-10 End of the Age– the times preceding the Second Coming of Christ, which I believe that we are living in. Key passages- Isa 62:11, Matt 13:39-40, Matt 24:3, Matt 28:20
Falling away– also known as the apostasy. Before the return of Christ, many will fall from the true faith and start believing in the various deceptions of Satan. This will be due in part to persecutions by the Antichrist, the arrival of “aliens”, and the counterfeit signs done by the false prophet. Key passages- Matt 24:5, 24; Luke 18:8; Luke 21:31-32; 2 Thess 2:3, 9-12; 1 Tim 4:1-3; 2 Tim 4:3-4; 2 Pet 2:1-3
Fallen angels– when Satan rebelled (Isa 14:12-14, Ez 28:16-17), many angels followed him and were defeated by God (Luke 10:18). Some returned to earth soon after the creation of Adam, and mated with earth women (Gen 6:1-4). Some of these angels were bound in the bottomless pit (2 Pet 2:4; Jude 6). Before the Great Tribulation, the remaining angels will be thrown down to earth with Satan (Rev 12:7-9); when they arrive, they will probably be posing as aliens so as to deceive people make them fall away from the faith. These angels will eventually also be thrown into the lake of fire with their master, Satan (Matt 25:41).
False prophet– counterfeits signs such as making fire come from heaven, and makes the people of the earth worship the Antichrist. He is earth born (Rev 13:11), unlike the Antichrist who is Satan incarnate. He is thrown into the lake of fire at Christ’s return. Key passages- Matt 24:24; 2 Thess 2:9-10; Rev 13:11-17; Rev 19:20
Gog and Magog– a war that will immediately precede the signing of the treaty of the Antichrist, and the seven years before the Millennium; this deduction comes from Ez 39:9-10. Gog is the ruler of the land of Magog, which is commonly associated with Russia, but may in fact be one of Israel’s Arab neighbors, such as Iran or Iraq. In Rev 20, the phrase “Gog and Magog” is used symbolically; over a passage of time (the Millennium) the one evil nation of Magog comes to represent all of the evil nations that remain on the earth; after the release of Satan, they remember their evil ways and join together in a desperate effort to overcome God. Key passages- Ezek 38 and 39; Rev 20:7-9
Great Tribulation– second half of Daniel’s Seventieth Week. This is the time of most of the judgments from God, as well as persecution against Christians by the Antichrist and his forces. The 144,000 Christianized Jews will be hidden during this period. It is said throughout scripture to last exactly 3 1/2 years, and concludes with the Second Coming of Christ. Key passages- Dan 7:25; Dan 9:27; Dan 12:1, 7; Matt 24:21, 29; Rev 7:14; Rev 11:2-3, 11; Rev 12:6, 14
Great White Throne Judgment– this is the final judgment of all souls. All those who will be given eternal life have already been resurrected at this time (Rev 20:4); the others will awake to “everlasting contempt” (Dan 12:2) in the lake of fire (Rev 14:9-10, 20:15). Anyone who is not in the Book of Life (Rev 3:5; 17:8; 20:12, 15) will be thrown into the Lake of Fire; the degree of their punishment will be determined by their works (Rev 20:12). Key passages- Dan 7:10; Hos 13:2-3; Rom 2:6-8; Rev 20:11-15
Lake of Fire– the Antichrist and false prophet are put here at the end of the Great Tribulation. Satan is later cast here as after his defeat at Gog and Magog. The lake of fire is also the final destination of all sinners, following the millennial reign of Christ and the Great White Throne Judgment. Everyone who has not been found written in the Book of Life is cast here. Since it is only the enemies of God that are resurrected for this judgment, we assume that they are all to be thrown into the lake of fire. Tragically, many of the people thrown into the lake of fire will be those permitted to live through the Millennium, but who will rebel once Satan and evil enters the world again. Key passages- Matt 25:41; Rev 19:20; Rev 20:10-15
Last Trumpet– the seventh trumpet of Revelation. Many events will happen roughly around this time; some of which will include the raising of the dead in Christ, the rapture of the saints, the Second Coming, and the defeat of the Antichrist. In Rev 10:7 and 11:15, we see that at the sound of the seventh trumpet the kingdom of the world officially becomes God’s kingdom. This begins the Millennium, Jesus’ reign of peace. Key passages- Isa 27:13; Zeph 1:14-16; Matt 24:31; 1 Cor 15:51-52; 1 Thess 4:14-17; Rev 11:15
Mark of the Beast (666)– at the start of the Great Tribulation, all people will be made to take this. In Rev 13 we read that the mark will be forced upon all people by the New World Order. The mark will most likely be a microchip, implanted on either the right hand or on the forehead. Without it you can not buy or sell anything – thus creating a cashless system. This will cause many to make the choice been God and the devil, because you will have to bow down to the Antichrist just to receive it. That is why the punishment for accepting it is so severe (Rev 14:9-10). Those who do not accept it but choose rather to die at the hand of the Antichrist, will come to life and reign with Christ during the Millennium. Key passages- John 6:66; Rev 13:16-18; Rev 14:9-12; Rev 15:2; Rev 16:2; Rev 19:20; Rev 20:4
Millennium– this is the one thousand year period that Christ reigns on earth following the Great Tribulation, but preceding the eternal kingdom. Jesus and the saints will rule over many peoples, who are saved and will live into the Millennium in their fleshly bodies, because they have not yet gotten out of sin. Jesus’ rule will be strict, “with a rod of iron”; he will “reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet” (1 Cor 15:25), meaning that all the inhabitants living on earth must completely abandon their evil ways. During this time there will not be any death (Isa 25:8, 1 Cor 15:51-54). Those who have not gotten out of sin by the end of the 1000 years will probably rebel and join Satan in trying to defeat God. They will be thrown into the lake of fire; the rest will live into the “renewal of the creation”, the eternal kingdom. Key passages– Zech 14:9; Rev 2:26-27; Rev 12:5; Rev 19:5; Rev 20:4-9
New Roman Empire (the New World Order)– the term designated for the revived political unity which will be found in the one world government of the endtimes. The NRE is the kingdom of iron and clay of Daniel 2. The government itself will be comprised of all the nations of the world, and will be controlled globally through the United Nations; nations that do not forfeit their independent power to the NRE will have economic sanctions imposed, and military action will be taken if necessary.
The Antichrist will be the ruler of the New Roman Empire, as seen in Rev 13:7-8; the government will secretly be run from the city of Babylon (Rev 17:15, 18), which I believe to be Rome. Under this government, the U.S. Constitution will no longer be honored. The recent escalation of new Executive Orders, which can be activated by the President on his own, show that our government is definitely preparing for martial law and forfeiture of power to a world governing power, the New Roman Empire. Key passages– Dan 2, 7; Rev 13:7-8, 16-18; Rev 17
144,000– this is the allotted number of Jews that will be hidden during the 3 1/2 years of the Great Tribulation. They are the remnant that is spoken of in Old Testament prophecy, and they are hidden because they haven’t yet accepted Christ as savior, so if they were to die with the rest of the Jews, none of Israel would be converted, and prophecy would be left unfulfilled.
They will flee from Jerusalem once the desolating sacrilege is seen in the third temple on Mount Moriah (Matt 24:15-18). They will be kept safe at a secret location for the 3 1/2 years (Rev 12:15), and possibly be attended to by the angels (Ps 91:11). All around them people will meet their deaths (Ps 91:3-7), but they will not perish at the persecuting hand of the Antichrist. Key passages- Deut 32:10-12; Psalm 91:1-12; Isa 40:31; Matt 24:15-21; Luke 21:20-24; Rev 7:1-8
Rapture– when Christ arrives in the air at his Second Coming, all living Christians will receive heavenly bodies and be caught up into the clouds with those who have been resurrected. There are two main theories about the timing of this event:
pre trib– this theory says that the faithful will be taken before a seven year tribulation period takes place on earth. It also claims that Christ returns a third time, at the end of the seven years, with all the saints that were raptured. I am strongly opposed to this theory, because it is without any clear scriptural support.
post trib– the scripturally sound answer to the rapture question is that it occurs at the end of the Great Tribulation, which will actually only last 3 1/2 years, and not seven. This is the only understanding of the rapture passages that can be deemed correct; Jesus said that the rapture would occur at a trumpet call (Matt 24:31), and Paul wrote specifically that it would occur at the “last trumpet” (1 Cor 15:52).
Key passages- Matt 24:31, 40-41; Luke 17:34-36; 1 Cor 15:51-52; 1 Thess 4:14-17; Rev 11:12; Rev 14:14-16
Saints– general term for the faithful people of God. In some translations, such as the KJV, the term suggests angels (Deut 33:2, Zech 14:5, 1 Thess 3:13, Jude 1:14). The saints of the endtimes are to be persecuted by the Antichrist. They earn their title by standing by the faith, even to martyrdom. Those who are killed come to life and are translated in their spiritual bodies at the Second Coming, and those alive at that time are also translated. The saints then reign with Christ for the Millennium (Dan 7:27, Rev 20:4). Key passages- Dan 7:21, 25; Rev 13:7, Rev 16:6, 17:6
Second Coming– the return of Jesus Christ at the end of the Great Tribulation. It will be a day of darkness (Isa 13:10, Joel 2:31, Zeph 1:15, Matt 24:29), punishment and destruction of sinners (Isa 13:9, 11; Isa 26:21; 2 Pet 3:7), as well as the rapture of the faithful (Matt 24:40-41, 1 Thess 4:17). Jesus will come on the clouds (Dan 7:13, Matt 24:30, 26:64; Rev 1:7) and destroy the Antichrist and his armies (2 Thess 2:8, Rev 19: 20-21). Key passages- Isa 11:3-5; Isa 26:21; Joel 2:10-11; Zeph 1:14-18; Luke 21:25-28; Acts 1:6-11; 1 Pet 5:4; Rev 19:11-21
Seventy Weeks– a prophecy that comes from Daniel 9. It tells of what God’s plan for Israel would be all the way until the Millennium. The first 69 weeks ran from the March 14th, B.C. 445 (when the commandment of Dan 9:25 was given; see Neh 2:1) to April 6th, A.D. 32 (the day that Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday). Those 69 weeks, calculated out, would be 173,880 days, which is the exact time from the commandment of Dan 9:25 to Palm Sunday. The 70th week is made up of two parts: the first 3 1/2 years, known as the “beginning of sorrows” (Matt 24:8); and the second 3 1/2 years, which follows the abomination of desolation, and is known as the Great Tribulation.
Time, times, half a time– this is the length allotted for the duration of the Great Tribulation. It literally means “a year, two years, and half a year”. Synonymous designations for the 3 1/2 years are half a week (Dan 9:27), 42 months (Rev 11:2) and 1260 days (Rev 11:3, 12:6). Key passages- Dan 7:25; Dan 12:7; Rev 11:11; Rev 12:14
Treaty with Death and Hell– this is more commonly known as the covenant of Daniel’s 70th week (Dan 9:27). This will be a treaty between Israel and her Arab/Muslim neighbors, who will have just been crushed (by God) in the Gog and Magog war. The name comes from Isa 28:15. It is called this because the treaty is mediated by Antichrist, and it begins a series of events leading up to his rule as world dictator. From the time of the signing of this treaty, to the time of Christ’s second coming, there will be seven years, which is know as Daniel’s 70th week.
Tower of Babel– the ancient ziggurat of Babylon, which was really an observatory and the origin of astrology. It was constructed to reach into the heavens (Gen 11:4) and exalt humankind over God, just as Satan did before his fall (Isa 14:12-14). We read that the people of Babylon were “one people” and “have one language” (Gen 11:6); these are both things that the One World Government will claim to accomplish. But there are other similarities between Nimrod’s Babylon and the Babylon of the N.W.O, such as idol worship (Rev 13:14) and sorcery (Rev 18:23).
UFOs– the supposed mode of transportation for extraterrestrial beings. I believe that the majority of UFO sightings are not necessarily of physical craft; they are most likely manipulated matter and energy, produced in the same manner that occultisms phenomena is produced. Some evidence of this is that military radar has never recorded a UFO entering our atmosphere; UFOs have been fired on many times by our military, but not one has ever been hit; no two UFOs ever appear exactly alike; and some UFOs break into pieces and then vanish, while others pass through physical objects and even merge into one.
I believe the only explanation for this is that the spiritual beings we know as fallen angels, or demons, are powerfully manipulating matter and energy to create the effect of “flying saucers”.
This process is known as transmogrification in the world of the occult. This same process was used by demonic beings to deceive many in Fatima, Portugal. There, witnesses say that the sun began to pulsate, spin, give off various colors, and finally plunge to the earth in a zigzag motion. UFOs are clearly some of Satan’s deceptive signs of the End of the Age (Matt 24:24, 2 Thess 2:9-10, Rev 13:13-14), and they help to fulfill the prophecy of “great signs from heaven” (Luke 21:11).
When the Antichrist arrives with these lying wonders, “in amazement” (Rev 13:3) many will follow him and support his New World Order. Since I strongly believe that all UFO phenomena is Satanic (Eph 6:12), I disregard any association between them and anything that has ever occurred in the Bible. One of the greatest misconceptions about UFOs and the Bible comes from Ezekiel chapters 1 and 10; neither account is anything like the UFO sightings of today, and the beings involved are clearly the cherubim (angels) of God that are found in Gen 3:24 and in Rev 4:7.
