GOD’S WORD ON WHAT DOES GOD THINK OF GAMBLING
Before, I knew what the Bible had to say about gambling, I didn’t know it was a sin, I married a gambler, so I was doing a little bit of it to. I didn’t know!
We played bingo, and went to casino’s, yrs ago, never knew that God was against it, never did I know that the Bible surely says, it is a sin….as soon as I seen this in the Bible, I immediately refused to even play bingo for charity… because it is still considered as gambling…. just watch this, well you can read it.
GAMBLING, GOD’S WORD ON WHAT DOES GOD THINK OF GAMBLING
Luke 12:15 . . . Beware! Don’t be greedy for what you don’t have. Real life is not measured by how much we own. God warns us not to be greedy.
Proverbs 10:16 . . . The earnings of the godly enhance their lives, but evil people squander their money on sin. Gambling is foolish because the money could have been put to good use.
Leviticus 16:8 . . . He is to cast sacred lots to determine which goat will be sacrificed to the Lord and which one will be the scapegoat.
Numbers 34:13 . . . Moses told the Israelites, “This is the territory you are to divide among yourselves by sacred lot.” Casting lots in the Bible was a method of determining God’s will, not a means of making money, so it is completely different from gambling.
ARE THERE ANY EXAMPLES OF GAMBLING IN THE BIBLE?
Matthew 27:35 . . . After they had nailed him to the cross, the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice. The soldiers who crucified Jesus gambled to see who would get his clothes.
WHY SHOULD WE STAY AWAY FROM GAMBLING?
Proverbs 28:22 . . . A greedy person tries to get rich quick, but it only leads to poverty.
Proverbs 1:19 . . . Such is the fate of all who are greedy for gain. It ends up robbing them of life. Gambling is rooted in the hope of getting rich quick, but it often ends in poverty.
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 . . . This should be your ambition: to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we commanded you before.
As a result, people who are not Christians will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others to meet your financial needs. Those who work for their money will be financially independent, but those who gamble often end up in financial ruin.
PROMISE FROM GOD: Ephesians 5:5 . . . You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is really an idolater who worships the things of this world.
