Receiving God’s Favor
“Receiving God’s Favor“
Genesis 39: 20-23
God showed him mercy and grace. When reading (Genesis 39:20-23) we see that God gave His mercy and grace to Joseph, he gave him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.
The prison warden basically put Joseph in charge of running the prison. Even when in dismal of circumstances of being incarcerated, the Lord caused Joseph to prosper.
God’s favor is always there for us, His children. But as in other things in our lives, unjust and just because its available, it doesn’t mean that we will ever be able to partake in it. Lord offers us many things that we will never enjoy because we don’t activate our faith to enjoy and receive it, what he has provided.
Favor is a part of the word “Grace”. In the new testament, the word grace and favor are both translated from the same Greek word “Charis”. Grace of God is the favor of God. Favor of God in the grace of God – which causes things to happen on our lives through the faith we have in God. It’s the Power of God doing things and something for us that we do not at all deserve. Just like when you are needing something done and you go to someone and you say “can you do me a favor?” You are asking them to do something for you that you have not earned or paid for.
You are actually depending on that person to do this for you out of the goodness of their heart and to manifest in the form of a blessing even though there is no natural reason for that person to extend it to you.
God wants to give us favor, grace, as he did Joseph. But, in order for us to receive His favor, we must all follow the example as Joseph and believe God for it.
Joseph, maintained a good attitude in a bad situation and his “faith attitude” led to God’s favor. God will give you favors just keep a good attitude and stay in faith in all situations you come across in your life, things seem hard sometimes but, as I do I never ever loose my faith, keep praying and believing and trusting in God he will bring you though it.
Genesis 41
God does speak to us today within our dreams, like He did Joseph. We need to be and stay balanced with our approaches with our dreams, because many of our dreams are not spiritual. If God is trying to tell us something on speak to us, show us, believe He will confirm it in our hearts if we ask him for wisdom and discernment read his word.
