Seven\u00a0Days of Creation?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n <\/center><\/p>\n A reader in Europe wrote recently regarding my choice of words for a study that I wrote some time ago, entitled\u00a0The Seven Days Of Creation. His point was, if God rested on the seventh day, were there then only\u00a0six<\/i>\u00a0days of creation? Six, or seven, days in which something was actually created? Answer:\u00a0seven<\/i>. As\u00a0The Bible\u00a0account describes, there were\u00a0seven<\/i>\u00a0days of creation – along with the physical creation during the six working days (known to the English-speaking world today as Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), by resting on the seventh day, and\u00a0making<\/i>\u00a0it holy, God\u00a0created<\/i>\u00a0the Sabbath Day on the seventh day of\u00a0creation<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n The Creation<\/i>\u00a0of The Sabbath Day<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n “And on the seventh day God finished His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which he had done. So God blessed [i.e. an act of\u00a0doing<\/i>\u00a0something] the seventh day and hallowed [i.e. He\u00a0made<\/i>\u00a0it holy, an act of\u00a0creating<\/i>\u00a0something] it, because on it God rested from all His work which He had done in creation.”<\/strong> (Genesis 2:2-3 RSV)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The Fourth Commandment:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n Don’t Forget<\/i>\u00a0The Sabbath Day of Creation<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath to The Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your manservant, or your maidservant, or your cattle, or the sojourner who is within your gates; for in six days The Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore The Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.”<\/strong> (Exodus 20:8-11 RSV)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Jesus Christ, The Greatest “Christian” Of All, Didn’t Forget<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and He went to the synagogue, as His custom was, on the Sabbath day. And He stood up to read; and there was given to Him the book of the prophet Isaiah. He opened the book and found the place where it was written, “The Spirit of The Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of The Lord.”<\/strong> And He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” And all spoke well of Him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth”<\/strong> (Luke 4:16-22 RSV)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The Apostle Paul, Who Wrote Much Of The\u00a0Christian<\/i>\u00a0New Testament, Didn’t Forget<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “As they went out, the people begged that these things might be told them the next Sabbath. And when the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who spoke to them and urged them to continue in the grace of God. The next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered together to hear the word of God.<\/strong> (Acts 13:42-44 RSV)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n After The Return Of Jesus Christ,\u00a0No One<\/i>\u00a0Will Forget<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n “For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me, says The Lord; so shall your descendants and your name remain. From new moon to new moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh [i.e. all nations,\u00a0everyone<\/i> shall come to worship before me, says The Lord.” (Isaiah 66:22-23 RSV)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n “And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, The Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.”<\/strong> (Zechariah 14:17 RSV)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n “But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of The Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of The Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of His ways , and we will walk in His paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of The Lord from Jerusalem. And He shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”<\/strong><\/span> (Micah 4:1-3 RSV) <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Fact Finder:<\/b>\u00a0(a) Were the Ten Commandments in force right from Creation?
