CHAPTER 28<\/span><\/p>\n

1\u00a0The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions.<\/span><\/p>\n

2\u00a0When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily. But with wise and knowledgeable leaders, there is stability.<\/span><\/p>\n

3\u00a0A poor person who oppresses the poor is like a pounding rain that destroys the crops.<\/span><\/p>\n

4\u00a0To reject the law is to praise the wicked; to obey the law is to fight them.<\/span><\/p>\n

5\u00a0Evil people don\u2019t understand justice, but those who follow the Lord understand completely.<\/span><\/p>\n

6\u00a0It is better to be poor and honest than rich and crooked.<\/span><\/p>\n

7\u00a0Young people who obey the law are wise; those who seek out worthless companions bring shame to their parents.<\/span><\/p>\n

8\u00a0A person who makes money by charging interest will lose it. It will end up in the hands of someone who is kind to the poor.<\/span><\/p>\n

9\u00a0The prayers of a person who ignores the law are despised.<\/span><\/p>\n

10\u00a0Those who lead the upright into sin will fall into their own trap, but the honest will inherit good things.<\/span><\/p>\n

11\u00a0Rich people picture themselves as wise, but their real poverty is evident to the poor.<\/span><\/p>\n

12\u00a0When the godly succeed, everyone is glad. When the wicked take charge, people go into hiding.<\/span><\/p>\n

13\u00a0People who cover over their sins will not prosper. But if they confess and forsake them, they will receive mercy.<\/span><\/p>\n

14\u00a0Blessed are those who have a tender conscience,* but the stubborn are headed for serious trouble.<\/span><\/p>\n

15\u00a0A wicked ruler is as dangerous to the poor as a lion or bear attacking them.<\/span><\/p>\n

16\u00a0Only a stupid prince will oppress his people, but a king will have a long reign if he hates dishonesty and bribes.<\/span><\/p>\n

17\u00a0A murderer\u2019s tormented conscience will drive him into the grave. Don\u2019t protect him!<\/span><\/p>\n

18\u00a0The honest will be rescued from harm, but those who are crooked will be destroyed.<\/span><\/p>\n

19\u00a0Hard workers have plenty of food; playing around brings poverty.<\/span><\/p>\n

20\u00a0The trustworthy will get a rich reward. But the person who wants to get rich quick will only get into trouble.<\/span><\/p>\n

21\u00a0Showing partiality is never good, yet some will do wrong for something as small as a piece of bread.<\/span><\/p>\n

22\u00a0A greedy person tries to get rich quick, but it only leads to poverty.<\/span><\/p>\n

23\u00a0In the end, people appreciate frankness more than flattery.<\/span><\/p>\n

24\u00a0Robbing your parents and then saying, \u201cWhat\u2019s wrong with that?\u201d is as serious as committing murder.<\/span><\/p>\n

25\u00a0Greed causes fighting; trusting the Lord leads to prosperity.<\/span><\/p>\n

26\u00a0Trusting oneself is foolish, but those who walk in wisdom are safe.<\/span><\/p>\n

27\u00a0Whoever gives to the poor will lack nothing. But a curse will come upon those who close their eyes to poverty.<\/span><\/p>\n

28\u00a0When the wicked take charge, people hide. When the wicked meet disaster, the godly multiply.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
