Psalm 106<\/span><\/p>\n

\n1 \u00a0Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 \u00a0Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise him half enough?<\/span><\/p>\n

3 \u00a0Happy are those who deal justly with others and always do what is right.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 \u00a0Remember me, too, Lord, when you show favor to your people; come to me with your salvation.<\/span><\/p>\n

5 \u00a0Let me share in the prosperity of your chosen ones. Let me rejoice in the joy of your people; let me praise you with those who are your heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n

6 \u00a0Both we and our ancestors have sinned. We have done wrong! We have acted wickedly!<\/span><\/p>\n

7 \u00a0Our ancestors in Egypt were not impressed by the Lord\u2019s miracles. They soon forgot his many acts of kindness to them. Instead, they rebelled against him at the Red Sea.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 \u00a0Even so, he saved them\u2014to defend the honor of his name and to demonstrate his mighty power.<\/span><\/p>\n

9 \u00a0He commanded the Red Sea to divide, and a dry path appeared. He led Israel across the sea bottom that was as dry as a desert.<\/span><\/p>\n

10 \u00a0So he rescued them from their enemies and redeemed them from their foes.<\/span><\/p>\n

11 \u00a0Then the water returned and covered their enemies;not one of them survived.<\/span><\/p>\n

12 \u00a0Then at last his people believed his promises.Then they finally sang his praise.<\/span><\/p>\n

13 \u00a0Yet how quickly they forgot what he had done! They wouldn\u2019t wait for his counsel!<\/span><\/p>\n

14 \u00a0In the wilderness, their desires ran wild,testing God\u2019s patience in that dry land.<\/span><\/p>\n

15 \u00a0So he gave them what they asked for,but he sent a plague along with it.<\/span><\/p>\n

16 \u00a0The people in the camp were jealous of Moses and envious of Aaron, the Lord\u2019s holy priest.<\/span><\/p>\n

17 \u00a0Because of this, the earth opened up;it swallowed Dathan and buried Abiram and the other rebels.<\/span><\/p>\n

18 \u00a0Fire fell upon their followers;a flame consumed the wicked.<\/span><\/p>\n

19 \u00a0The people made a calf at Mount Sinai ;they bowed before an image made of gold.<\/span><\/p>\n

20 \u00a0They traded their glorious God for a statue of a grass-eating ox!<\/span><\/p>\n

21 \u00a0They forgot God, their savior, who had done such great things in Egypt\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

22 \u00a0such wonderful things in that land, such awesome deeds at the Red Sea.<\/span><\/p>\n

23 \u00a0So he declared he would destroy them. But Moses, his chosen one, stepped between the Lord and the people. He begged him to turn from his anger and not destroy them.<\/span><\/p>\n

24 \u00a0The people refused to enter the pleasant land, for they wouldn\u2019t believe his promise to care for them.<\/span><\/p>\n

25 \u00a0Instead, they grumbled in their tents and refused to obey the Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n

26 \u00a0Therefore, he swore that he would kill them in the wilderness,<\/span><\/p>\n

27 \u00a0that he would scatter their descendants among the nations, exiling them to distant lands.<\/span><\/p>\n

28 \u00a0Then our ancestors joined in the worship of Baal at Peor;they even ate sacrifices offered to the dead!<\/span><\/p>\n

29 \u00a0They angered the Lord with all these things, so a plague broke out among them.<\/span><\/p>\n

30 \u00a0But Phinehas had the courage to step in, and the plague was stopped.<\/span><\/p>\n

31 \u00a0So he has been regarded as a righteous man ever since that time.<\/span><\/p>\n

32 \u00a0At Meribah, too, they angered the Lord, causing Moses serious trouble.<\/span><\/p>\n

33 \u00a0They made Moses angry, and he spoke foolishly.<\/span><\/p>\n

34 \u00a0Israel failed to destroy the nations in the land, as the Lord had told them to.<\/span><\/p>\n

35 \u00a0Instead, they mingled among the pagans and adopted their evil customs.<\/span><\/p>\n

36 \u00a0They worshiped their idols, and this led to their downfall.<\/span><\/p>\n

37 \u00a0They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons.<\/span><\/p>\n

38 \u00a0They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters. By sacrificing them to the idols of Canaan, they polluted the land with murder.<\/span><\/p>\n

39 \u00a0They defiled themselves by their evil deeds, and their love of idols was adultery in the Lord\u2019s sight.<\/span><\/p>\n

40 \u00a0That is why the Lord\u2019s anger burned against his people, and he abhorred his own special possession.<\/span><\/p>\n

41 \u00a0He handed them over to pagan nations, and those who hated them ruled over them.<\/span><\/p>\n

42 \u00a0Their enemies crushed them and brought them under their cruel power.<\/span><\/p>\n

43 \u00a0Again and again he delivered them, but they continued to rebel against him, and they were finally destroyed by their sin.<\/span><\/p>\n

44 \u00a0Even so, he pitied them in their distress and listened to their cries.<\/span><\/p>\n

45 \u00a0He remembered his covenant with them and relented because of his unfailing love.<\/span><\/p>\n

46 \u00a0He even caused their captors to treat them with kindness.<\/span><\/p>\n

47 \u00a0O Lord our God, save us! Gather us back from among the nations, so we can thank your holy name and rejoice and praise you.<\/span><\/p>\n

48 \u00a0Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! Let all the people say, \u201cAmen!\u201d<\/b> Praise the Lord!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
