2\u00a0The Lord approves of those who are good, but he condemns those who plan wickedness.<\/span><\/p>\n

3\u00a0Wickedness never brings stability; only the godly have deep roots.<\/span><\/p>\n

4\u00a0A worthy wife is her husband\u2019s joy and crown; a shameful wife saps his strength.<\/span><\/p>\n

5\u00a0The plans of the godly are just; the advice of the wicked is treacherous.<\/span><\/p>\n

6\u00a0The words of the wicked are like a murderous ambush, but the words of the godly save lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

7\u00a0The wicked perish and are gone, but the children of the godly stand firm.<\/span><\/p>\n

8\u00a0Everyone admires a person with good sense, but a warped mind is despised.<\/span><\/p>\n

9\u00a0It is better to be a nobody with a servant than to be self-important but have no food.<\/span><\/p>\n

10\u00a0The godly are concerned for the welfare of their animals, but even the kindness of the wicked is cruel.<\/span><\/p>\n

11\u00a0Hard work means prosperity; only fools idle away their time.<\/span><\/p>\n

12\u00a0Thieves are jealous of each other\u2019s loot, while the godly bear their own fruit.<\/span><\/p>\n

13\u00a0The wicked are trapped by their own words, but the godly escape such trouble.<\/span><\/p>\n

14\u00a0People can get many good things by the words they say; the work of their hands also gives them many benefits.<\/span><\/p>\n

15\u00a0Fools think they need no advice, but the wise listen to others.<\/span><\/p>\n

16\u00a0A fool is quick-tempered, but a wise person stays calm when insulted.<\/span><\/p>\n

17\u00a0An honest witness tells the truth; a false witness tells lies.<\/span><\/p>\n

18\u00a0Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing.<\/span><\/p>\n

19\u00a0Truth stands the test of time; lies are soon exposed.<\/span><\/p>\n

20\u00a0Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil; joy fills hearts that are planning peace!<\/span><\/p>\n

21\u00a0No real harm befalls the godly, but the wicked have their fill of trouble.<\/span><\/p>\n

22\u00a0The Lord hates those who don\u2019t keep their word, but he delights in those who do.<\/span><\/p>\n

23\u00a0Wise people don\u2019t make a show of their knowledge, but fools broadcast their folly.<\/span><\/p>\n

24\u00a0Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave.<\/span><\/p>\n

25\u00a0Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.<\/span><\/p>\n

26\u00a0The godly give good advice to their friends; the wicked lead them astray.<\/span><\/p>\n

27\u00a0Lazy people don\u2019t even cook the game they catch, but the diligent make use of everything they find.<\/span><\/p>\n

28\u00a0The way of the godly leads to life; their path does not lead to death.<\/span><\/p>\n

CHAPTER 13<\/span><\/p>\n

\n1\u00a0A wise child accepts a parent\u2019s discipline; a young mocker refuses to listen.<\/span><\/p>\n

2\u00a0Good people enjoy the positive results of their words, but those who are treacherous crave violence.<\/span><\/p>\n

3\u00a0Those who control their tongue will have a long life; a quick retort can ruin everything.<\/span><\/p>\n

4\u00a0Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper and be satisfied.<\/span><\/p>\n

5\u00a0Those who are godly hate lies; the wicked come to shame and disgrace.<\/span><\/p>\n

6\u00a0Godliness helps people all through life, while the evil are destroyed by their wickedness.<\/span><\/p>\n

7\u00a0Some who are poor pretend to be rich; others who are rich pretend to be poor.<\/span><\/p>\n

8\u00a0The rich can pay a ransom, but the poor won\u2019t even get threatened.<\/span><\/p>\n

9\u00a0The life of the godly is full of light and joy, but the sinner\u2019s light is snuffed out.<\/span><\/p>\n

10\u00a0Pride leads to arguments; those who take advice are wise.<\/span><\/p>\n

11\u00a0Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows.<\/span><\/p>\n

12\u00a0Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when dreams come true, there is life and joy.<\/span><\/p>\n

13\u00a0People who despise advice will find themselves in trouble; those who respect it will succeed.<\/span><\/p>\n

14\u00a0The advice of the wise is like a life-giving fountain; those who accept it avoid the snares of death.<\/span><\/p>\n

15\u00a0A person with good sense is respected; a treacherous person walks a rocky road.<\/span><\/p>\n

16\u00a0Wise people think before they act; fools don\u2019t and even brag about it!<\/span><\/p>\n

17\u00a0An unreliable messenger stumbles into trouble, but a reliable messenger brings healing.<\/span><\/p>\n

18\u00a0If you ignore criticism, you will end in poverty and disgrace; if you accept criticism, you will be honored.<\/span><\/p>\n

19\u00a0It is pleasant to see dreams come true, but fools will not turn from evil to attain them.<\/span><\/p>\n

20\u00a0Whoever walks with the wise will become wise; whoever walks with fools will suffer harm.<\/span><\/p>\n

21\u00a0Trouble chases sinners, while blessings chase the righteous!<\/span><\/p>\n

22\u00a0Good people leave an inheritance to their grandchildren, but the sinner\u2019s wealth passes to the godly.<\/span><\/p>\n

23\u00a0A poor person\u2019s farm may produce much food, but injustice sweeps it all away.<\/span><\/p>\n

24\u00a0If you refuse to discipline your children, it proves you don\u2019t love them; if you love your children, you will be prompt to discipline them.<\/span><\/p>\n

25\u00a0The godly eat to their hearts\u2019 content, but the belly of the wicked goes hungry.<\/span><\/p>\n
