They were written at different times over a period of several years (hundreds).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-weight: bold; text-shadow: rgba(23, 23, 23, 0.808594) 1.4px 1.4px 0px; color: #32458b;\"><b>The Testaments<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c13\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The Bible is divided into two separate testaments or wills. One is the <b>Old Testament<\/b> the other one is the <b>New Testament<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The Old Testament was mainly written in <b>&#8220;Hebrew and Aramaic.&#8221;<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c13\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The new Testament was written in the <b>&#8220;Common Greek language of the Day of Jesus.&#8221;<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><b>Thirty &#8211; Nine\u00a0Books<\/b> in the Old Testament and <b>twenty-seven<\/b> in the New Testament.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Both Testaments can be looked upon as a set of rules and guidelines on how we are to live, and so we can Walk With God. Rules that were given to help us have a honorable relationship with Him and our fellow man. These testaments can be called the Old Rules and the New Rules.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-weight: bold; text-shadow: rgba(23, 23, 23, 0.808594) 1.4px 1.4px 0px; color: #32458b;\"><b>This clearly helps define two things<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"c13\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">First, which part of the Bible is not in effect, the Old Rules.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"c13\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Second, which part of the Bible is in effect now today, the New Rules.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"c13\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Even though both testaments were written by several disciples from different generations, each book both the <b>Old and New Testaments<\/b> fits together like a finished puzzle. They were woven together like one multipliable Colored cloth, showing forth a unified picture of the past,\u00a0present and future. No wonder the Bible is said to be inspired.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-weight: bold; text-shadow: rgba(23, 23, 23, 0.808594) 1.4px 1.4px 0px; color: #32458b;\"><b>How did we get the Old?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">It is believed that Moses wrote the first five books of the <b>Old Testament<\/b>. These five books are\u00a0called the Law, or the Law of Moses. It is called the Law of Moses because he is the one who received it from God to write down and pass on to the Jewish people. <b>Ex 24:4<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">In many verses, the New testament refers to the Law of Moses when it is trying to teach that it is not in effect any more. <b>Col 2:14<\/b> ; <b>Romans 10:4<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Several other inspired men wrote the rest of the <b>Old Testament<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c13\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><b>Example:<\/b> Solomon, wrote most of the books in <b>Proverbs<\/b> <b>The Songs of Solomon<\/b>, and\u00a0 <b>Proverbs 1:1<\/b> ; <b>Ecc1:1<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">King David wrote many of the Psalms, which were songs about his joys, and his sorrows and his needs. He also spoke of the Christ in them <b>Psalms 2:7<\/b>, <b>Psalms 22<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Several men called <b>&#8220;prophets&#8221;<\/b> spoke words from God that were written down, men such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. King David was also called a prophet <b>Acts 2:29, 30<\/b>.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Others contributed to the writings. The Jew were the keepers and collectors of these writings. All of them have been copied and translated over the years and delivered to us today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-weight: bold; text-shadow: rgba(23, 23, 23, 0.808594) 1.4px 1.4px 0px; color: #32458b;\"><b>How Did We Get The New?<br \/>\n<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The New Testament was written by eight inspired men. Seven of them were Jews, Matthew, Mark, John, Paul, James, Peter and Jude. Luke was believed to have been a Gentile. Fourteen of the books in it are believed to have been penned by Paul, one by Matthew, one by Mark, two by Luke, and five by John, and one by James, two by Peter and one by Jude.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The books were written approximately between <b>33 A.D<\/b>. and <b>100 A.D<\/b>, and were circulated among the gatherings of the believers. <b>Col 4:16<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c13\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">In the first letter to Timothy, the apostle Paul actually quotes from the Gospel of Luke. <b>1 Timothy 5:18<\/b>. Therefore, Luke&#8217;s Gospel was likely to have been circulated during the first Century. These books were written in the Greek Language of that day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Matthew, John and Peter were apostles. Apostles were twelve specially chosen men who were eyewitnesses of Jesus when He was on Earth. <b>Luke 6:13<\/b> ; <b>Mark 3:14<\/b>; <b>Cor 12:28<\/b>, <b>2 Cor 12:12<\/b>. In this way, they could be the best witnesses to credibly tell others about Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Paul also was a specially chosen eyewitness of Jesus and the apostle <b>1Timothy 2:7<\/b>. Yet Paul only saw Jesus in a vision <b>Acts 9:1-7<\/b>. Mark was a traveling companion of the apostle Paul <b>Acts 12:25<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c13\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Mark was also called John, Luke traveled with Paul also. Luke, when writing the book of Acts, sometimes used the word <b>&#8220;we&#8221;<\/b> to indicate that he was with the apostle Paul when he traveled. <b>Acts 16:1<\/b>0. Both Mark and Luke would have understood first hand from the apostle what the new message was all about.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">James and Jude were followers of Jesus and actual brothers to Him. <b>Gal 1:19<\/b>, <b>Mark 6:3<\/b>, <b>Acts 1:14<\/b>. Therefore, they would be credible witnesses and writers of their New Testament books. In <b>A.D 397<\/b>, the Council of Carthage gave their formal acceptance of the 27 books in the New Testament.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-weight: bold; text-shadow: rgba(23, 23, 23, 0.808594) 1.4px 1.4px 0px; color: #32458b;\"><b>Why are Other Books not In The Bible?<br \/>\n<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Two excellent reasons can be given for why other books are not included in the Bible.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">First, they are not considered to be inspired by God. For example, several appeared between the period of both the Old and the New testaments. These have been grouped into what is called the Apocrypha.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The Apocrypha has been widely disputed as to whether it is inspired or not. The catholic Bible included some of the Apocrypha books. Yet most any other Bible does not.
