” What Does The Bible Say About Heaven”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The Final Judgment The New Jerusalem<\/span><\/p>\n

Can you imagine just what <\/span>“Heaven is going to be like and look like?”<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The most beautiful peaceful sacred place anyone could ever imagine being in. Yeah there are many people who think going to the canyons,<\/span>
\nand the water falls are amazing…. they are not half amazing as Heaven is going to be.<\/span><\/p>\n

I just know by how the Bible speaks of Heaven, wow, it is going to be grand, the most beautiful place ever that has been created. Are<\/span>
\nYou Going to be there?<\/span><\/p>\n

BIBLE READING:<\/span> Matthew 22:23-33<\/b><\/span>
\nKEY BIBLE VERSE:<\/span> Jesus replied, \u201cYour problem is that you don\u2019t know the Scriptures, and you don\u2019t know
\nthe power of God.\u201d<\/span> (Matthew 22:29<\/b>)<\/span><\/p>\n

Acts 3:21<\/b> For he must remain in heaven until the time for the final restoration of all things, as God promised long ago through his prophets.<\/span><\/p>\n

Acts 4:12<\/b> There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them.<\/span><\/p>\n

OUR IDEAS ABOUT HEAVEN MUST BE BASED ON THE BIBLE<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The Sadducees asked Jesus what marriage would be like in heaven. Jesus said it was more important to understand God\u2019s power than know what heaven will be<\/span>
\nlike. In every generation and culture, ideas of eternal life tend to be based on images and experiences of present life. Jesus answered that these faulty<\/span>
\nideas are caused by ignorance of God\u2019s Word. We must not make up our own ideas about God, eternity, and heaven by thinking of them in human terms. We<\/span>
\nshould concentrate more on our relationship with God than about what heaven will look like. Eventually we will find out, and it will be far beyond our<\/span>
\ngreatest expectations.<\/span><\/p>\n

BIBLE READING: <\/span>John 14:1-14<\/b><\/span>
\nKEY BIBLE VERSE: <\/span>There are many rooms in my Father\u2019s home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this were not so, I would tell you plainly. When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. (John 14:2-3<\/b>)<\/span><\/p>\n

HEAVEN IS OPEN<\/span> TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN CHRIST<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus\u2019 words show that the way to eternal life, though unseen, is secure-as secure as your trust in Jesus. He has already prepared the way to eternal<\/span>
\nlife. The only issue that may still be unsettled is your willingness to believe.<\/span><\/p>\n

Matthew 24:30<\/b> And then at last, the sign of the coming of the Son of Man will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the<\/span>
\nnations of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.<\/span><\/p>\n

31<\/b> And he will send forth his angels with the sound of a mighty trumpet blast, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.<\/span><\/p>\n

35<\/b> Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will remain forever.<\/span>
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

JESUS IS PREPARING PLACES IN HEAVEN FOR HIS FOLLOWERS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

There are few verses in Scripture that describe eternal life, but these few verses are rich with promises. Here Jesus says, \u201cI am going
\nto prepare a place for you,\u201d<\/span> and \u201cI will come and get you.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We can look forward to eternal life because Jesus has promised it to all who believe in him. Although the details of eternity are unknown,<\/span>
\nwe need not fear, because Jesus is preparing for us and will spend eternity with us.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nKEY BIBLE VERSE:<\/span>\u00a0 Let heaven fill your thoughts. Do not think only about things down here on earth. (Colossians 3:2<\/b>)<\/span><\/p>\n

Mark 13:32<\/b> \u201cHowever, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son
\nhimself. Only the Father knows.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

33<\/b> And since you don\u2019t know when they will happen, stay alert and keep watch.<\/span><\/p>\n

1 John 5:7<\/b> So we have these three witnesses \u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

8<\/b> the Spirit, the water, and the blood\u2014and all three agree.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Final Judgment<\/span><\/p>\n

Revelation 20:11<\/b> And I saw a great white throne, and I saw the one who was sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found<\/span>
\nno place to hide.<\/span><\/p>\n

The New Jerusalem<\/span><\/p>\n

1<\/b> Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone.<\/span><\/p>\n

2<\/b> And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a beautiful bride prepared for her husband.<\/span><\/p>\n

3<\/b> I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, \u201cLook, the home of God is now among his people! He will live with them,
\nand they will be his people. God himself will be with them.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4<\/b> He will remove all of their sorrows, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. For the old world and its
\nevils are gone forever.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

HEAVEN\u2019S PRIORITIES CAN BE PART OF LIFE HERE ON EARTH<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Letting heaven fill our thoughts means striving to put heaven\u2019s priorities into daily practice and concentrating on the eternal rather than the<\/span>
\ntemporal.<\/span><\/p>\n

(Philippians 4:8-9<\/b> and Colossians 3:15<\/b> for more on Christ\u2019s rule in our hearts and minds.)<\/span><\/p>\n

FOCUSING ON HEAVENLY THINGS PUTS EARTHLY THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The Christian\u2019s real home is where Christ lives (John 14:2-3<\/b>). This truth gives us a different perspective on our life here on earth. To<\/span>
\n\u201clet heaven fill your thoughts\u201d<\/span><\/b> means to look at life from God\u2019s perspective and to seek what he desires. This is the antidote to materialism; we gain the proper perspective on material goods when we take God\u2019s view of them. The more we regard the world around us as God does, the more we will live in harmony with him. We must not become too attached to what is only temporary.<\/span><\/p>\n

BIBLE READING: <\/span>Revelation 4:1-5:14<\/b><\/span>
\nKEY BIBLE VERSE:<\/span> As I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me with the sound of a mighty trumpet blast. The voice said, \u201cCome up here, and I will show you what must happen after these things.\u201d <\/span>(Revelation 4:1<\/b>)<\/span><\/p>\n

Luke 3:21<\/b> One day when the crowds were being baptized, Jesus himself was baptized. As he was praying, the heavens opened,<\/span><\/p>\n

22<\/b> and the Holy Spirit descended on him in the form of a dove. And a voice from heaven said, \u201cYou are my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with you.\u201d<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span>
\nEphesians 3:15<\/b> the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Philippians 3:20<\/b> But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.<\/span><\/p>\n

21<\/b> He will take these weak mortal bodies of ours and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same mighty power that he will use to<\/span>
\nconquer everything, everywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n

IT ISN\u2019T WHAT, BUT WHO IS IN HEAVEN THAT MATTERS<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Chapters 4 and 5 of Revelation<\/b> record glimpses into Christ\u2019s glory. Here we see into the throne room of heaven. God is on the throne and<\/span>
\norchestrating all the events that John records. The world is not spinning out of control; the God of creation will carry out his plans as Christ initiates<\/span>
\nthe final battle with the forces of evil. John shows us heaven before showing us earth so that we will not be frightened by future events.<\/span><\/p>\n

Genesis 28:17<\/b> He was afraid and said, \u201cWhat an awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God\u2014the gateway to
\nheaven!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

18<\/b> The next morning he got up very early. He took the stone he had used as a pillow and set it upright as a memorial pillar. Then he poured<\/span>
\nolive oil over it.<\/span><\/p>\n

19<\/b> He named the place Bethel\u2014\u201dhouse of God\u201d<\/span>\u2014though the name of the nearby village was Luz.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 10:14<\/b> The highest heavens and the earth and everything in it all belong to the Lord your God.<\/span><\/p>\n

23<\/b> The Heavens over your head shall be of brass and the earth under you shall be iron.<\/span><\/p>\n

1 Kings 8:27<\/b> But will God really live on earth? Why, even the highest heavens cannot contain you. How much less this Temple I have built!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Psalms 69:34<\/b> Praise him, O heaven and earth, the seas and all that move in them.<\/span><\/p>\n

35<\/b> For God will save Jerusalem and rebuild the towns of Judah. His people will live there and take possession of the land.<\/span><\/p>\n

Psalms 103:11<\/b> For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Psalms 73:25<\/b> Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.<\/span><\/p>\n
