Obsolete. ill will. a feeling of grudging or somewhat admiring discontent aroused by the possessions, achievements, or qualities of another the desire to have for oneself something possessed by another; covetousness an object of envy. Or trying to be like someone and do what they do or know how to do because you want what they have.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c10\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 16px;\"><b>Enviousness:<\/b>\u00a0Envy and jealousy are very close in meaning. Envy denotes a longing to possess something awarded to or achieved by another: to feel envy when a friend inherits a fortune. Duplicity is the form of deceitfulness that leads one to give two impressions, either or both of which may be false: the duplicity of a spy working for two governments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c10\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 16px;\">Fraud refers usually to the practice of subtle deceit or duplicity by which one may derive benefit at another&#8217;s expense: an advertiser convicted of fraud. Trickery is the quality that leads to the use of tricks and habitual deception: notorious for his trickery in business deals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c10\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 16px;\"><b>Evil Speaking:<\/b>\u00a0is expressly forbidden (<b>Titus 3:2<\/b>;\u00a0<b>James 4:11<\/b>), and severe punishments are denounced against it (<b>1 Cor. 5:11<\/b>;\u00a0<b>6:10<\/b>).
