How Perfect Do We Have To Be?
PERFECTION IS A GOAL TOWARD WHICH WE
I have listed some Verses which also may help you on the
"Perfection of God" and this will also help you
strive to be perfect as well. Noone said, it would be easy, but with God He
helps you along the way!† I pray this helps you!
GODíS WORD ON HOW IS GOD PERFECT?
Deuteronomy 32:4 . . . He is the Rock;
His work is perfect. Everything He
does is just and fair. He is a faithful God
who does no wrong; how just and upright He is!
Ecclesiastes 3:14 . . . I know that whatever God
does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it.
Godís purpose in this is that people should fear
Matthew 5:48 . . . You are to be perfect,
even as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Romans 11:33-36 . . . Oh, what a wonderful God we have! How great are
his riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to

GOD IS PERFECT IN HIS CHARACTER AND HIS NATURE

GOD IS PERFECT IN HIS WAY AND HIS PROVIDENCE

Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes. This is the God to whom we
must explain all that we have done.
GOD IS PERFECT IN HIS KNOWLEDGE
2 Timothy 3:16-17 . . . All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful
to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives.
It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is Godís way of
preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us
James 1:25 . . . If you keep looking steadily into Godís perfect
law-the law that sets you free-and if you do what it says and donít forget
what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
Psalm 19:7 . . . The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.

GOD IS PERFECT IN HIS WORD
Hebrews 4:15 . . . This High Priest of ours understands our
weaknesses, for he faced all of the same temptations we do, yet he did not

holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has now been set apart from sinners,
and he has been given the highest place of honor in heaven.
1 Peter 1:18-19 . . . You know that God paid a ransom to save you from

not mere gold or silver. He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of
Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE AREAS IN WHICH WE ARE TO STRIVE TO BE
James 1:27 . . . Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God our
Father means that we must care for orphans and widows in their troubles, and
refuse to let the world corrupt us.
2 Peter 3:14 . . . While you are waiting for these
things to happen, make every effort to live a pure and blameless life. And be
at peace with God.
2 Corinthians 7:1 . . . Because we have these promises, dear friends,
let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit.
And let us work toward complete purity because we fear God.
2 Corinthians 2:15 . . . Our lives are a fragrance presented by Christ
to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those being saved and
by those perishing. We should strive to be perfect in our holiness.
Genesis 6:9 . . . This is the history of Noah and his family. Noah was
a righteous man, the only blameless man living on earth at the time. He
consistently followed Godís will and enjoyed a close relationship with
1 John 2:5 . . . Those who obey Godís word really do love him. That is
the way to know whether or not we live in him.
1 Timothy 6:13-14 . . . I command . . . that you obey his commands
with all purity. Then no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord
Jesus Christ returns.
Genesis 17:1 . . . When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord
appeared to him and said, ďI am God Almighty; serve me
faithfully and live a blameless life.Ē We should strive to be perfect
in our obedience.
Matthew 5:48 . . . You are to be perfect, even as your Father in

Colossians 3:14 . . . The most important piece of
clothing you must wear is love. Love is what binds us all together in perfect
1 John 4:12, 18 . . . No one has ever seen God. But if we love each
other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression
through us . . . Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear.
If we are afraid, it is for fear of judgment, and this shows that his love
has not been perfected in us. We should strive to be perfect in our love.
Isaiah 26:3 . . . You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you,
whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Psalm 119:165 . . . Those who love your law have great peace and do
Philippians 4:4-7 . . . Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it
again-rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do.
Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Donít worry about anything; instead, pray
Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this,
you will experience Godís peace, which is far more wonderful than the human
mind can understand.
His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. We
should strive to be perfect in the way we pursue peace.
HOW DO WE MEET GODíS EXPECTATIONS FOR US?
Colossians 1:22 . . . Now he has brought you back as his friends. He
has done this through his death on the cross in his own human body. As a
result, he has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy
and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.
Hebrews 10:14 . . . By that one offering he perfected forever all
those whom he is making holy. We meet Godís expectations by accepting Christ
as our Lord and Savior.
Galatians 3:3 . . . Have you lost your senses? After starting your
Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by
your own human effort? We meet Godís expectations by daily living in the
2 Timothy 3:16, 17 . . . All Scripture is inspired by God and is
useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our
lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is Godís
way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God
wants us to do. We meet Godís expectations by knowing him and his ways
through his Word.
Hebrews 6:1 . . . Let us stop going over the basics of Christianity
again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding.
Surely we donít need to start all over again with the importance of turning
away from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.
Ephesians 4:11-12 . . . He is the one who gave these gifts to the
church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and
teachers. Their responsibility is to equip Godís people to do his work and
build up the church, the body of Christ. We meet Godís expectations by
growing and ministering to others.
PROMISE FROM GOD: James 1:17 . . . Whatever
is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heavenís
lights. Unlike them, he never changes or casts shifting shadows. Coming into
Christís presence will be more wonderful than we could ever imagine!
We are to "STRIVE" to be "PERFECT" work hard to
not to conform to the things of this world and the sin in it.
